1. The academic year consists of three terms. The average duration of each term is approximately Weeks terms - I, II & III refer and terms

2. Curriculum Design
2.1 The academic programme consists of core (compulsory), essential and elective (optional) courses.
2.2 The academic pogrammes are designed as per the following:-
(a) Core -Compulsory for all students.
(b) Essential -Compulsory for students who are majoring in particular area.
(c) Electives -Optional, depending on the choice of the.
2.3 Core courses in the programme are designed to
(a) Provide basic conceptual and analytical knowledge, and inculcate attitudes and skills necessary for managerial effectiveness.
(b) Develop an integrated view of organizational and managerial functioning and an understanding of the
interdependencies of subsystems.
(c) Create an awareness and understanding of environmental forces impinging on managerial behavior.
2.2 The academic pogrammes are designed as per the following:-

2.3 Core courses in the programme are designed to

(b) Develop an integrated view of organizational and managerial functioning and an understanding of the

(c) Create an awareness and understanding of environmental forces impinging on managerial behavior.
2.4 The essential and elective courses provide an opportunity for concentration on focus areas to enable the student to cope
with the demands of the job in the early years of his professional career.
2.5 All subjects in the first year are Core subjects. These number twenty-seven in all, with nine subjects in each of the three trimesters.
2.6 In the second year, there are four Core subjects (including the final project).
2.7 In the second year, students are required to opt for one Major specialization and one Minor specialization. The following areas
of specialization are offered:-
2.9 A student must take a total of seventeen credit subjects in addition to four Core subjects in the second year (Trimester 4 5 6).
These can be a combination of Essential and Electives offered in their areas of Major, Minor. Students have to take seven
subjects in each trimester and will not be allowed to exceed twenty one subjects in the second year in all.
2. 10 In order to Major in any discipline, a student is required to complete a total of at least eight essential and elective subjects
in that discipline over the year. [All essential subjects are compulsory for that area).
2.11 In order to Minor in any discipline, a student is required to complete a total of at least four subjects (either Essential or Elective)
in that area over the year.
